Mike Macdermid 0:13

Hello, and welcome to the Nintendo Switch UK podcast. Thank you very much for downloading or for listening and for sharing or for talking about it or for just being here. It's episode number 30. Oh, yeah, Hi, I'm here. Yeah, I was here. Also Anton's here.

Anton Winters 0:28

Also here, it's crazy. We're like adults. No, no, no way getting around that where we're all doing this. On the podcast game as well,

Mike Macdermid 0:37

we made it to number 30, which is definitely an achievement. So thank you to everyone who's listening to us. Up until this point we will be carrying on with the episode without going into too much detail about our 30th birthday. all I'll say is go listen to the first 29

Al Struthers 0:50

Yeah, absolutely. If you're starting listening to us in September, you've got one for every day of the month

Mike Macdermid 0:54

we go. Can I ask for more than that? Really. It's just been a fairly busy week. We've got a few things to talk about. But before we do that, just a reminder, you can download us listen to us on all your usual podcast places, but we've also got a Twitter so if you've not been on there, you can head to Twitter. It's NSUK podcast on Twitter and you can interact with us on there, Anton of myself do try and reply as much as we can. Are you kind of deal with the emails?

Al Struthers 1:17

Yeah, I don't do social medias that does too complicated for me. So just email and you'll get me on podcast at NSUKP coda UK usually respond.

Mike Macdermid 1:26

And that is also our website NSUKP code at UK so lots to get on with this week. Before we start, though, I want to just quickly ask what you've both been playing this week. Anton, have you had a chance to pick up the switch?

Anton Winters 1:36

Oh, yes, I've been playing a little bit of Minecraft as I seem to be doing every week because it feels like everybody I know. It's just gone back into it. So soon as my help another friend jumps on it starts playing it. But in terms of more new stuff, I managed to pick up what they called em something architect and it's a skill building game where you essentially build a apartments and then you have to manage slum and tonnes of fun. I should know the needle. That's nice.

Al Struthers 2:07

I don't wanna do that a game.

Mike Macdermid 2:08

I like games where you do your day job, but not necessarily your own day job.

Al Struthers 2:12

Yeah, that's my own day job.

Mike Macdermid 2:15

But even still, yeah, speaking of management ones, I've picked up Beat Cop this week where you where you have to basically be a policeman and sort of look after a police department and it's, it's on sale at the moment. I think it's 30% off right now. It's been looking at it before so that was the reason I picked up Anton was before I move on to myself just because you mentioned the management games Anthony LC been playing Are those the kind of man was

Anton Winters 2:39

that that was the main one and I've caught the tail know my head. It's project high rise. Oh, yeah, I've seen that. So it's like all about managing and making sure everybody has what their what I call a really good deal. and nephews are interested in like count your imagine it follows shower, and some say had like a baby. And really fun. And you can get for 15 pounds physical at game compared to digital. So if you're interested in giving that a goal, it's a great deal.

Mike Macdermid 3:06

Yeah, I've heard good things about it. Glad you're enjoying that. Or at least you've picked it up anyway to get into access. I think once you sort of start on that you'll be lost in there for a while. What about you? What have you been playing this week?

Al Struthers 3:16

I've got sort of be managing you in a way. I've been playing 911 operator again. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I mean, last week, I think I said it was very relaxing. That was the just the tutorial. But yeah, it got a little frantic. But I completed it. It's pretty good.

Unknown Speaker 3:27

completed.

Al Struthers 3:28

Yeah. I've been playing it nonstop. Whenever I've had a moment. I just picked it up. Because each game aspect four minutes, five minutes. You get your quite quickly.

Mike Macdermid 3:35

Really, really good. Well, that's good, because I'm away on holiday this week. So just a quick reminder next week, we won't have a podcast. So we're gonna have a two week break after this. So we're back in two weeks time. So one week break. We're back in two weeks time.

Al Struthers 3:47

What will you play Mario Tennis and in your first few days?

Mike Macdermid 3:49

Oh, yeah. So you played that?

Al Struthers 3:51

Well, I've downloaded I played a very, very briefly with my son this morning. Yeah, I nearly let him win. And when I tried to let him in, I still accidentally beat him. He's only four. I mean, it's fine. Enjoyed it? Well, I'm looking forward to being a bit more

Mike Macdermid 4:02

the I downloaded it and played through the single player for a bit. And it's a lot of fun. There's a lot of stuff. There's a lot content, they're actually more than I probably thought there would be so yeah, definitely worth downloading. Still a couple of days on it from NoSQL 13. You got two more days from a time of us recording. Yeah, which is Sunday. So if you listen to this on Monday, you've got 24 hours but have a shot because I think you can get it for a third off as well. It's actually in the store now for third off too. Yeah. So yeah, so you mentioned 911 operator, which is the reason I said that's interesting is because I'm away in holiday to Madrid on Thursday. And obviously flying and being in hotel have picked a couple of games to play while I'm there. And what I've decided to do is try and finish a couple of the indie titles I've had sitting around for a while, but name on ones on my list as well because I think that'd be quite a fun short bursts type game to play. So I'm going to have a go with that. I say fun. But now that you've you've worried me nowadays

Al Struthers 4:52

is good fun. Good likes it I can put it down. Are you gonna?

Mike Macdermid 4:54

Are you going to pick up all the DLC for two pounds?

Al Struthers 4:57

It's not two pounds anymore. Yeah. No into the DLC at all going back up again.

Mike Macdermid 5:02

Don't know, I check in the store again, because I did

Al Struthers 5:05

I spent about 10 Medical renderer own wrangling it can be going up it can be going up. And it was both both bits of DLC I think came to be equal. We saw a lot but I wasn't gonna pay that forward.

Mike Macdermid 5:13

Well, I picked up a bit caught, as I mentioned as well just kind of management type one. I also, again, I've had sit in for a while called submerged know if any, you know submerge, never heard. So it's it's a 3d kind of puzzle type exploration game. Basically you wake up and you're looking after your son, I think and you wake up in a in a city where everything's underwater, but you have to go and find objects and things from different buildings taking your boat from one side of islands to the other. But the islands are like buildings. It's really, it's so beautiful. so amazingly well done. It's a few years old. Now in terms of the art style. So I think it's 2015 originally came out on Steam, I think but it's set well worth a look. And if you want something relaxing, there's no combat in it, as well. So it's quite a relaxing title. So if you see that in the seal, you like that kind of game, I would pick that up. And the other one is oxen free, which I've gone back to because oxen free, I love the storey the voice acting as it's like a teen American Horror type title really well done. But I got stuck on a bit on a plane journey previously, and then just put it down and went, Oh, I can't go online to check. I know

Al Struthers 6:19

pre internet problem I used to have all the time.

Mike Macdermid 6:21

Yeah. So I couldn't go online to check. And I thought I'll just wait and do it. So finally to death, I better get past it. And it was the most simple thing. Isn't that always the case. So it's something that you're stuck on. It's like literally, you know, right in front of you and you don't notice so. So those are the games I'm going to play when I'm away. I'm going to try and play through a couple of those

Al Struthers 6:37

central good fun, I want to hear you get on when you come back on the podcast tell us how many of them you actually played, how many completed and how many you got to frustrated Well, the

Mike Macdermid 6:45

the the journey and the flight, I'll definitely get to play. And I think you know, you know what it's like if you're back in the hotel a bit earlier or whatever, you've had a long day walking around as a city break. So I'll be in the hotel a fair bit in the evenings and it's hot.

Al Struthers 6:56

So basically, let me get this straight. You lie in bed here and annoyed your wife by flipping a switch. Yeah, you're going to go and hold it alone bed and annoy your wife by playing switching. Yeah, but she's got a switch location. Not true, but she's not playing it. She's asleep, or trying to sleep.

Mike Macdermid 7:09

Well, I got into trouble playing Rocket League the other night, that game, you cannot play quiet. On that we have some Rocket League news, which we're going to come on to in a minute. So let's move on to this week's news. Now, before we get into all the big announcements, one game that I saw an interview with the development team behind I want to just mention the sinking city. So this is a big triple A title that's coming to PlayStation, Xbox and the switch. But what's really cool is it appears that they're making real changes to make sure that it runs well on the switch out of the box. So things like the water physics, they're using a different engine, just to make sure that whilst there won't be a huge noticeable difference for us as players, it runs better and it gets the most sort of, you know, space that they can use it on things that are really important to make it run the switch because it's a proper AAA title.

Al Struthers 7:58

That's pretty cool. But do you know is it going to launch simultaneously and all the consoles? Are we getting late?

Mike Macdermid 8:03

I have a feeling is maybe out? Is it on other consoles?

Anton Winters 8:08

I think it's so in development for the law. percent sure there is. Yes, excited to see this because I remember when we like oh, call into switch news hype cycle, we're always of the opinion that, you know, eventually it's like slow with triple A stuff. But eventually stuff will be built from the ground up to take advantage of that hardware that looks like we're finally starting to see the fruits of those labour

Mike Macdermid 8:32

so it can't get in those titles. As far as I can see, it came out on the PlayStation four in June. So obviously not having a ps4 anymore. It's very hard for me to know, anymore. But it said that it was what I thought that it had to come out. And basically they're doing a version for the switch, which is more sort of designed to make sure that it does run well on the switch, which is great. But the fact is a triple A title the fight that's a new title on the PlayStation four and the Xbox One. It's great to see it we talked about that last with last week with the two worlds coming to the switch as well, which I'm very excited about. Gotta

Al Struthers 9:05

say I'm with you on that. That looks.

Mike Macdermid 9:07

Doesn't it really looks good. And then this is another one again, reviews are fairly mixed. But again, when you're up against if you if you're doing a triple A type title, you're up against so many big guns that I think on the switch. This could be something a little different. So if they price it right, and they get it right and it's running well. I mean IGN give it 7.8 or 10 pc gamer just 66% but 88% of users seem to like it. So you know it's one to one to watch out for.

Al Struthers 9:35

Absolutely. Well keep your eyes peeled to see what it looks like when eventually comes on the switch. If the will give us a date tonight be nice.

Anton Winters 9:41

Yeah, yeah, definitely. And Kelly being the one person that's not the hundred percent familiar and for other people who may not be familiar, what kind of game what kind of stuff would people be expecting from the sinking ship

Mike Macdermid 9:53

so I've watched the sinking city so that as I've been watching Sorry, I've been watching I've watched a few of the trailers and have read the interviews well, and from what I've seen, I've watched a tiny bit of gameplay but basically it seems to be the whole setup is that the main character is in a city that is underwater and there's creepy things happening and so it's a first person shooter horror horror survival type game I think somewhere in the middle of the two seems to be fairly open open world from what I've seen, but it may be completely linear because I haven't played it and I don't know.

Al Struthers 10:22

Yeah, pretty much all I've got from flying fish. I bought drive around and something scary running at you. Yeah, yeah, that's it that's in a nutshell so the wash trailer that's what you get from trailers

Mike Macdermid 10:31

the frog Where's here the developers describe it as an action adventure mystery horror video games. So there we are.

Unknown Speaker 10:38

Yeah, one of them in all those?

Mike Macdermid 10:41

Yeah, let's take every box every john. Okay, moving on and dark ciders to the DDF tentative edition so hard to say

Unknown Speaker 10:51

definitive definitive,

Mike Macdermid 10:53

definitive. I think it's better. To know what I was thinking it was like the D version of like, you know, if you like, deconstruct something, but no, it's death isn't it's definitely death because it's definitely either way it sounds sounds great, like definitive definitive edition, officially coming to switch physically and digitally. 26th of September. So a little bit of good news. If you're a dark siders fan, then you're going to get dark ciders too. And it just reminds me very much of the kind of x box kind of era and that kind of Yeah, I think I think the first one was it 360 the first one.

Anton Winters 11:27

Yeah, the first two were free 60. And then the third one was careful, 2016 ps4. And I picked up the first two games at launch. And I never really got into them. The second one felt fairly mediocre by launch type of weird type franchise. But I know there's a lot of people that have really gotten invested. And it seems to have a lot of charm in terms of characters, at least, it kept the lore, they seem very committed to it as i a publisher, so I'm, you know, it's great to have more games. And I imagine for people who love this franchise, it's been a decent little teen since it was originally released. So get to get on the switch. Take on the goal. Okay,

Mike Macdermid 12:06

well, it's one to check out. And will you be playing that one? Oh,

Al Struthers 12:10

hi. It's nothing I've ever had massive interest in playing, I have to say, I mean, I'm not gonna say I will never play it. But there's a good chance that

Mike Macdermid 12:17

just a quick word as well another game that I meant to mention last week, but today I have you have a chance to play Murphy's law when it was released to do I remember

Al Struthers 12:23

coming up and doing it.

Mike Macdermid 12:25

So Murphy's Law, if you remember where it was a small, independent, really small indeed, company that put it together. And they've been promising Murphy's law for a very long time and it took a while longer than they expected. It's kind of foreign for type shooter game. And you think you shoot the head of when you shoot your opponent's head, it gets smaller and smaller, and eventually, it disappears or it gets bigger and bigger. It's bigger, bigger, bigger target. That's what it is. I think it was smaller as good because it's harder to hit right? Anyway, basically, online was dead. There was nobody playing it, but they've gone back to the game and they've kind of done a whole whole bunch of stuff and they've redone heaps and it's actually quite active again, so if you haven't checked it Murphy's Law, it's in the sale. I don't know what the price is because I bought it previously, so I don't know what it currently is all but it's in the sale. So that's another one to check out. Alright, got guacamole.

Unknown Speaker 13:15

guacamole.

Mike Macdermid 13:16

Can you can we get some games that have got like normal titles like Sonic? Tell us what one punch two punch three punch collection one two punch.

Anton Winters 13:25

Yeah, so we're getting a collection of the first two games very, very regard to that seems to be like oh, there's like some of the best indie games possible and haven't picked them up already. And it looks like we're getting a physical bundle to two games. Sadly, we don't have a release window yet. And but it's in the pipeline. So if that's something you'd like get your wallets out and I think doing these one to like maybe like trilogies of indie games that's a nice way to get let's go version of these games with all haven't get stung too hard with the the switch tax hopefully. So yeah, have any of us played no question the way the games

Mike Macdermid 14:00

haven't, but I've heard very good things about them over the years and I think physical for me is always the way to go if I if I can so it's one that I will I will have a look at and watch some some videos I think get on YouTube for some gameplay vids. I've seen

Al Struthers 14:13

some vids in the past. It looks really good fun. I've just never actually played it. I would actually quite like to do so. Yeah, my I meant by it.

Mike Macdermid 14:21

What about you? You obviously played them. So

Anton Winters 14:23

I Oh, I haven't I've just been quite aware of it. Something has popped up like a lot. And I've just been like, I'll get to one day and I promise I'll do but it seems to be kind of a similar thing. But yeah, depending on the price, maybe at 20 pounds. I could see myself maybe picking up at that sort of price point. Especially since you came to games. Yeah, it makes it much better when they just take a tape on the indie game they put in a box, there's 25 pounds all of a sudden, I know why don't we

Mike Macdermid 14:49

see that a lot. And even then I'm the kind of sucker that would probably buy it to be honest.

Al Struthers 14:54

Well, you know what, let's just ask the audience. If any listeners out there have it tell us whether it's worth buying or not. Yeah, because the world seems to think it is. But you know, when I hear direct from someone who plays it,

Mike Macdermid 15:02

yeah, well, obviously they won't have the one two punch collection but they might individually but they might want to buy it Yeah, absolutely. Next up construction simulator to the console edition has been noticed for a switch. And it's coming in a couple of months. We've got loads of these kind of same type titles know and it's quite an interesting one because I think it's to me Anton is the kind of thing I think I could totally imagine that you'd be quite keen on this.

Anton Winters 15:26

Yeah, I get just at random there's no rhyme or reason to it random simulate or something like Oh, I love it. That's my life. But you know, I'm traffic construction similar app Am I believe it's got decent reviews on PC. Yeah, obviously this is counselling that they can pump out annually. So seeing that this is the second edition, but I'm on the fence. I'm on the fence. We've been getting a lot of these recently. Yeah.

Al Struthers 15:54

I have to say it feels like the kind of thing that should kind of distil steamy used to get them into boxes and PC Postini existed you go into a shop, and they had whole shelf dedicated to weird simulators. kind of think they should still PCs? Oh, no, I think

Mike Macdermid 16:07

it's great as on the switch, because I would never play on Steam because I've never used him in my life, which I should buy it and play on the switch. Potentially if it was the right simulator? I might Yeah,

Al Struthers 16:15

yeah. I was gonna say these things are the world better with a big screen keyboard?

Mike Macdermid 16:20

Yeah, of course they do if you want to, if you want to geek out on it, and you want to go full on games at all. And bias. I know, it's because my brother's obsessed with boss simulator for some reason. But so I get it. But I think for me, like I'm someone that if it was in a seal, and I could pick that up for a tenner. I've like I'll give that go at it. Because it was one last year. I try to think what it was. I think it was mud truckers. I think that's the one which is Oh,

Anton Winters 16:43

yeah, but for other

Mike Macdermid 16:44

honours. Yeah, that's the entire that's the one yeah. And and I was really tempted. I was so wanting that game. never went for it in the end, because I don't have that much time to invest in it. Although it does look great. And I just thought you know what? I think it's great that they're on the switch. iPad. There

Al Struthers 17:00

you go. Right. That's a perfect example. You thought yeah, love to play it. But you didn't buy it. And I mean, we're getting more more than some people are buying them just feels wrong. It doesn't feel like a console game.

Anton Winters 17:12

I love it. Yes, it's an interesting one. Because I know with my own personal experience, and going from like Cece Euro Truck Simulator to a mud runner spin tire, as and playing mud runners on PC versus playing on switch as you end up losing a lot of the degree of the simulation. Yeah. And I think it depends on how easy the count mechanic can be simplified to a and I guess almost arcadey experience separate account, broader concepts could fit in that. When it's something cool, like, all you've got a crane and explosions are going on. Maybe it works. But if it's something just simple like driving a work bus, when you simplify it, maybe it doesn't make as much of a fun game.

Mike Macdermid 17:58

Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Well, it's I for me personally, because I'm someone that will never play on a PC. I think bring on the more the better, really will agree to differ. I could sit here all night and talk about the most boring conversation when you guys talk about the podcast as while we're talking about what we think that construction simulator two should be a console game or not. Frankly, I'm disappointed in you, Alice.

Anton Winters 18:26

Oh, dear.

Mike Macdermid 18:26

All right. Let's move on. The next one's an interesting title. Because we have number two already on the switches the first it'll do, which is launching on the switch on the 18th of August for 899. I really wanted to get the second one and again, it was on my list of titles to buy way back because it's been on the switch for ages. The second the second one, isn't

Anton Winters 18:47

it? Yeah, I think it was like near the launch of the switch. And you know, getting the first game I'd call very good reviews. I think the kill graphics have been touched up to bring it up to all to two standards. And it looks really really cute and charming. 899 especially if they just for one or two, like a sale at Yeah, I could see a lot of people that's like claiming like the charts in the middle of the sale time. It

Al Struthers 19:12

looks like a fun game looks a bit like a 16 bit Zelda type thing.

Mike Macdermid 19:16

Yeah, it's like a type. Yeah, title. Yeah, who's quite cute. I love the I love the animation of it. I think the It looks great. The graphics that really fun, really bright, really kind of, I think very suited to the switch and handheld as well. So that's cool. I don't know what the first and the second one what the big differences are. I don't know whether you're just worth jumping to the second. But I think if you're a fan of the second game and you have already, you're probably going to want to pick up the first as well over a thought. So that's certainly interesting. And it's going to be out very soon. In fact, in less than a week's time. So there we go. Now next up, Rocket League news. Loot crates are being removed from Rocket League. Thank goodness for that, because I play a lot of Rocket League as you both know. And I'll be honest, I have very little interest in most of the the stuff that you get for sort of playing games and I play enough to get without paying premium to still get lots of loot crates, and I get loads of crates, and you have to get keys to open them all up for them. And to be honest, them being removed. Doesn't bother me one bit. I like the extra stuff. There was the at summer, which was fantastic. And I've picked up a whole bunch of Lego Ghostbusters tires, and I just really fun, awesome stuff. I love all that. That's great. And the more that the better. And if you can unlock it or you know, you get points in your pocket, that's great. I've paid for Rocket League, I bought a physical copy of Rocket League. It was free when I got on the police station for the first time. And I played about 200 hours on there. And then I bought on the switch because I wanted to support the publishers because it's a fantastic game. What I don't like the premium thing. Okay, that's fine, because you can pay it and you can join, you know, premium first season or wherever if that's your thing. That's okay. Why don't like is the extra stuff and the kind of the trading and the money and that side of it. For me it feels a little bit like you're getting into fortnite territory with that. And I'm not 100% sure about it. So no loot crates doesn't really bother me.

Al Struthers 21:14

Until How do you feel about Luke rates?

Anton Winters 21:16

Yeah, you know, I am completely like, I'm surprised how can you horrible like the idea of them just being there? Because I think just having them in the game you pay money for? Yeah, yeah, that's a complete deal breaker for me. Like I won't. Well, they weren't there before.

Mike Macdermid 21:33

They weren't there. Originally, when I played Rocket League before we didn't. I don't remember that being Luke creates until you know well into the games cycle. And for me, I don't really notice them because I don't really care. So when I see Oh, you've unlocked to create, just get this key. Now you can buy keys to unlock crates, and I'm just like, I'm not going to do that. It doesn't change the game. You know, it's it's mostly aesthetic stuff is stuff like you know, different tires and stuff. So it doesn't i don't i think is really a game changer. From what I can figure out unless someone can maybe correct me. Maybe you can buy a car that is so much better than everyone else's. I don't think it works like that in Rocket League.

Al Struthers 22:09

Well, I thought in Rocket League, I don't play enough. I kind of saw all the cars handled the same was just skipping the changes.

Mike Macdermid 22:15

That's that I'm pretty sure that is the case. But I still don't like loot crates. Anyway, and I don't think you know, a bomb calm about it. Because it just generally I'll still play anyway. Because I think the game is great. But yeah, I'm not a fan.

Al Struthers 22:28

Well, I mean, yeah, it might be good news coming your way, then. Okay, when it comes to loot crate? Because I think it was no, I think it was just this week. Suddenly, I've just found out earlier this week that the Entertainment Software Association has announced that Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft are all going to be implementing a policy from 2020, where they have to disclose the odds of anything in a lucrative, right, so they're not getting rid of I'm not banning them. Now, let's work and we've covered that before and again. But at least if you tell people what their lives are going to be, they're gonna make a slightly more informed decision whether the part of the money or not, yeah, yeah.

Mike Macdermid 23:03

Just Anton on that on the question about the stats and things about your cars and Rocket League. And what it does do I just double check to be sure. And sure enough, the turning speeds, sorry, the speeds in the air roll speeds are not and basically your basic speed of each car is exactly the same across the board and Rocket League. What does change is, if you have a different car shape, it will change whether it's better aerial hits or dribbling or what other other things like hitting the ball harder or whatever. So there are differences in the vehicles, but you get most of the vehicles. Anyway, and most pros use the same car. I'm not going to find out what that is because I don't think that'll help me because I'm not. There's such there's such a jump in Rocky legally. I think I'm quite good. And then I get into like a silver league or a gold league once in a while. And it's like, No,

Al Struthers 23:48

I'm not good. It's only us can keep driving into the Batmobile or DeLorean or something. Yeah, because it's cool. That's why I love the delivery,

Mike Macdermid 23:57

apparently is the octane is the car that most pros are using. So I'll maybe give it a go. I have used the octane To be fair, and it is. But I can see why because the thing about Rocket League is the bigger mass of your car. Obviously, it's a bigger space to hit the ball with and that is one of the things is in the accuracy of it. But this is the best all around the wreck and octane is great because he can do stuff in the air very easily and dribbling and all the rest of it. So there you go. There's your There's your pro tip for Rocket League from a very, very non pro rugby who's a developer of Rocket League again. So well done. So unless we're getting rid of the boxes, we salute you. Yeah,

Al Struthers 24:30

yeah, absolutely. Although you shouldn't have brought them in the first place. But

Mike Macdermid 24:34

yeah, let's talk about that. Okay, next up. I saw this today actually, the Grand DIHD collection is coming to the switch on the 16th of August. What's grand Dr.

Anton Winters 24:43

Yeah, Grindea is a very iconic, edgy RPG from the 95 to 2000 era. I believe it was ps1, Dreamcast. Yeah. But very beloved, it's developed by gay marks. Well, and my personal opinion, Lee make some base at sharp Geez, ever. And they made lunar selfish storey personal favourite of mine, yeah, album from unknown Jr. Chief plan. And they were very much a studio that kind of made a lot of passion projects. And this was kind of one of their final projects before going under and is very beloved by fans. And it's been a while since we've had a chance to play it. So if you're looking for a very classic sounds GRPG. It's called like a lot of the classic things you expect. And I think this one's a little bit more steampunk in space, but very good and late day mark, just that super high quality stuff. And I'm so happy and I hope this does well because hopefully we'll see all our account relics of game arts prestigious library of great titles coming to intend to sweat. Yeah,

Mike Macdermid 25:47

I mean, we talked about I can remember going back to January or February early on the podcast we were saying we need more JRPG we need to see more of these classic titles come into the switch because it's the perfect console. I mean, look at the look at work we are now we've got about every month we don't have every but we've got lots of Final Fantasy titles for our star we've got easy we've got Xena blade two we've got now we're getting grand do we've got other classic titles as well. And there's loads of classic titles on there now is this one as someone who hasn't played a lot of GRP Geez, but quite likes the idea of them. And I'm one of the ones I'm going to please easy because I bought that and I'm very excited about playing that. Would you recommend this one, Anton?

Anton Winters 26:26

MO it's, it's hard to say I think it's a good place to jump in. And my experience with gay Mark titles is there. Kendall here just classic typical GRPG super high quality and polished just like the fit and finish is really good. And that's healthy at so i think so depending on the price. I think it would be a good place to start especially with getting two titles and there for one do we know the price yet? I'm not too sure. Sorry. Okay, I haven't seen any thing of it yet. I mean,

Mike Macdermid 27:00

we're only we've only got to wait four or five days so it's not that long until it's actually out I'm not sure I'm just quickly checking to see if I can find anything in shop and I think it's maybe been announced yet but certainly I this is a great title for the switch and I'm really happy to see more more of these titles coming to the switch and we talked about we talked about ports and older games all the time and I do think if they're good quality then you know just bring them bring them to the switch but yet can't find a price on that at the moment but certainly it's only a few days to wait until we find out so that's good news. Now we know we're getting up watch for for the Nintendo Switch but we're also getting Yuki watch one it's been announced for the switch bought its when are we going to get in the West? That is the question. We know it's coming out in Japan on the 10th of October. Do you think we'll get it here Anton do we know

Anton Winters 27:48

and I think looking at the developers can track history they seem to really like and they'll sing it for Japan and then just waiting for like four months before they ever talk about the UK version. I think Calvin studio seems to really like showing before the announce and I think they're just working on getting that in English translation cope done and considering we've got the 3ds version Originally, I think it's very likely will see this game a later date. But great places are if you've never played the originals. Yeah,

Mike Macdermid 28:17

yeah, absolutely. I know my other half played three. I think it was three extensively on the 3ds. So yeah, and she seemed to really enjoy it. Next up this is really good news because if you haven't played this game, it gets rave reviews and it's cadence viral crypt of the necromancer featuring The Legend of Zelda It now has a demo Has anybody downloaded it yet?

Anton Winters 28:41

Oh, not yet but still working on the way for the was it crypto the necromancer Yeah, they'll vote yourself out or you give it a go I've not

Al Struthers 28:49

Although to be fair, I didn't even know there was out until we started doing the show notes for this episode. I thought I want to go play it Yeah, so I'm going to go and get the demo but I haven't

Mike Macdermid 28:57

interestingly you can turn the rhythm part off what

Unknown Speaker 29:01

integral part of

Mike Macdermid 29:03

this discussion with somebody the other day and I said isn't that the whole point but I suppose you know what if you want to play it that way then fine

Al Struthers 29:10

whatever its passion was the buttons I guess.

Mike Macdermid 29:12

Yeah, some people don't like the rhythm part Anton.

Anton Winters 29:15

Yeah, I could totally see it that's it the problem with me with fair crop to the naked dancers closet so reform dependent and I don't play on the goal because I'm not got headphones and and then I don't play at home because then I play a triple A game yeah, so that's my are sleeping can get me more interesting. It's

Mike Macdermid 29:33

interesting. A lot of people have said the same thing. And I'm pretty sure you can have had a whole conversation about it and I was told so you know, you could don't quote me but quote the person I spoke to nameless just

Al Struthers 29:44

named machines I'm pretty sure you can.

Mike Macdermid 29:47

Right next up 13 has been delayed until 2020 so this is the game as you see on the boxes the X 111 it's the old game from the PS to era remake is it and Game Cube I think it was at the game qubit was on as well. Dreamcast what was it was it was a triple

Anton Winters 30:03

threat of the Xbox PS two game Cooper Ubisoft That's right.

Mike Macdermid 30:07

I probably will get sleep on rails isn't it?

Anton Winters 30:12

And I think that's killer seven similar ascetic but it got rave reviews. I remember them yeah, remember the reviews have been like a big big title and as well as the first sale shaded games we got in the error like, pre borderline, so yeah,

Al Struthers 30:26

yeah, I mean, it looks amazing. It sort of looks like somebody to GoldenEye and crossed it with our charity cartoon. Oh, yeah, it just looks amazing. I really want to play I missed it for some round Oh yeah. Winters existence never go to bed. It's

Mike Macdermid 30:37

like Ghostbusters. And I saw I miss Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters. 10 years ago when it came out and it's coming out very soon and I actually saw retail physical version of that for 22 pounds the I think I mentioned this last week but it's great having these games that that we haven't maybe had the chance to play the first time around and now we're like oh it's kind of the switch a play on the switch. So this is another one going to wait till 2020 little bit let's face it that's only four months away so

Unknown Speaker 31:01

it's not really that many cricket

Mike Macdermid 31:02

is sorry about that. I also just earlier on we mentioned about 911 operator and I've checked because I was so sure that you could get the bundle on the seal at the moment I've just found it in Charlotte to Alistair and you can

Al Struthers 31:16

you can but don't do the way I was doing it don't go into the game and go to the DLC expecting the DLC to be cheap you've got to go to the store and buy the whole bundle separately.

Mike Macdermid 31:25

You can buy the whole bundle so if you haven't bought 911 operator at all it's I think it's at 9pm

Al Struthers 31:30

Eastern on PI no se don't buy the Tempe version know the 260 version get a whole lot

Mike Macdermid 31:34

Yes you get the two big DLC as well and it's loads of content and actually I did the same as you I bought the first one for at 9pm amazing evening pants and then bought it in my excitement without checking through the whole store and it's further than I knew is

Al Struthers 31:46

there is the sooner combined the basic but cheap and they get a bunch of it's cheap but I mean you still

Unknown Speaker 31:49

want to

Al Struthers 31:52

bring anybody's bank you might

Mike Macdermid 31:53

even buy a pint for that Alastair so

Al Struthers 31:55

good as we go but no you can't Yeah, well not not in Aberdeen you got

Mike Macdermid 31:59

right next up then we've got to Nunez online games and so a little bit good news if you're switch online, kung fu heroes and vice project Doom I don't know either these games we just had a we look at kung fu heroes and it looks

Al Struthers 32:12

very pretty. looks amazing. Vice produces amazing artwork for the game. Doesn't look like anything I'm gonna play as cool.

Mike Macdermid 32:20

Why not bring them bring bring more NES games but we want status, don't we, Anton?

Anton Winters 32:24

Yeah, I think the I believe the kung fu one is part of the collection of games called like the super Chinese saga or something. And it's like a weird sub franchise that has just like the main character, but doesn't have any of the Lauren the gameplay just changes from game to game are all very high quality, apparently. But this Elijah's this week seems to be really scraping the ball. You know,

Mike Macdermid 32:51

I have to say, as much as I'm like, cool. That's only because I I don't really care enough because I think we get a good deal with the switch on my anyway. But I think a lot of people will be like, Come on

Al Struthers 33:02

do either of us you playing this only because I haven't played it really since quite a long time.

Mike Macdermid 33:07

I played a few I usually when there's new games, I'll jump on and do yeah, I've been there for five minutes. It's such a quick.

Al Struthers 33:13

Yeah, I would. I would like to say I played a lot more. I feel like we've been getting more value for money if I did, but I just I just don't look too many switch games to play to go back and play. Yeah. And

Mike Macdermid 33:23

I think I think that if they continue to introduce I think people support the idea of the play the free to play for seven days or five days. Whatever. Good. That could be a really good one, especially as they're doing toe tracker in Japan right now would be so great to have a game like that Maya tennis, great place to start. But yeah, I mean, fine. Give us a couple more NES online games it's not going to

Al Struthers 33:44

doesn't hurt having them know exactly. It's not

Mike Macdermid 33:47

going to get too excited Anton

Anton Winters 33:50

I think I've like only like dabbled in Dr. Mario but that's just because the same here we want it's not too hard to

Mike Macdermid 33:57

next I spotted this and thought Oh this looks I'm not sure I'm going to wait for reviews Yankee have announced a Kickstarter for charger size dock. So really it's small. But basically it's it's already surpassed its goals. You can charge your phone your tablet your laptop and you can use it for connecting a MacBook or an iPad to the to your screen as well I did see this I'm not sure

Anton Winters 34:21

yeah, they leave gang k they were the people that made the Bluetooth adapter we will back but yes it really seems like they're paying a little bit above their their weight class here. There's a low points of failure. I could see off this but if it did work, would you guys be up for something like this?

Mike Macdermid 34:42

A small dog and potentially I think retail $59 What's that 40 quid a bit it's a bit steep But yeah, I mean I think for going away if you knew you were going away and holiday for a while. I might get it and then you can play Mario Party or whatever was friends things that be quite cool. It's got potential because the dog isn't isn't portable.

Al Struthers 35:05

It's not wife I find that if I travel down I've got family live in England if I travel don't see them. I do end up taking the whole docking system and you're driving annoying Yeah, but even then it's still annoying having to pack the whole thing up but you can just take a little adapter actually. I might I might put a 4050 quid probably not only good maybe

Mike Macdermid 35:22

I think my real warrior guest is sister third party and not that i think i think Yankee do some decent stuff but I would be great if Nintendo were doing something like this.

Anton Winters 35:32

Yeah, I think the people who this has the most utility for and it said the count one saving grace for me is maybe people who have like a newer mac book or a newer like an Android phone with a USB port. Then you're maybe getting a little bit more value because well it's maybe 20 pounds more than a normal USB switch charger. Yeah, like the plug so maybe there but I would or so be scared of this thing over here. Like there's a lot of signals going in and out of this tiny low we reckon Yeah,

Mike Macdermid 36:06

and you'd hope that figure all that out by that is my concern I guess just because it's not Nintendo I guess but we'll see. And we'll see what the reviews are like I'm not I'm certainly not writing off but great for them and well done to them for getting their goals and Kickstarter. Speaking of Kickstarter, however, this for reaching your goal. So this is an unofficial Legend of Zelda cookbook. we've all tried to cooking Zelda and then ended up making something that just is stinky and horrible. And

Al Struthers 36:31

with a weird cooking noise. Yeah.

Mike Macdermid 36:34

Exactly. So that they had a goal of $3,000 for this cookbook, and they've raised $47,000 I mean, that's gonna be a heck of a cookbook

Anton Winters 36:45

place like all done it seems like the the girl who's making it she seemed to actually be doing it as a hobby. So it's like being only true and tested on our friends and family. Do you ever do any of those recipes?

Mike Macdermid 36:59

I mean, be vegan. Probably not very many. I mean, there's a couple of like the you know, the the ones that you could probably do with like the seeds the you know, things like that, I guess but I mean,

Al Struthers 37:09

there were a few weird and wonderful recipes in there. Yeah, I wonder how they translate into real world me What? Hot No, no, I probably wouldn't want on stage and I'm quite adventurous of food I eat most things. To be fair I play give a bash. Why not?

Anton Winters 37:22

Um, there's some crazy stuff like they have stuff like elixirs and just like potions as well that just don't even exist. It's quite insane. But they do have freakin and gluten free recipes, like sections in there so I can see a little bit for everyone. Good. Well, that's lovely.

Mike Macdermid 37:38

Well done to them though, for smashing that goal, amazingly, actually did something like 12 was that 1213 times or something like that? It's incredible. It's phenomenal. Yes, well done. Right. Let's move on then. To this week's rumours. No, first of all, hadn't time which looks lovely very nice. graphics on it as well. really interested to see this on the switch has been rated now by the ESRB which basically suggests that it's quite close to release Anton.

Anton Winters 38:09

Yeah, you know, a great sold platformer. We've been waiting for this for a bit at the very much just like it's ready when it's ready. And it looks like it's finally here. Great reviews on Steam. Go I love more platformer.

Mike Macdermid 38:23

Yeah, I think we probably do need some more prop platform is on the switch. I mean, no, there's a fair few out there. But I think you know, good quality ones are always welcome. And it's a good system for it.

Al Struthers 38:33

Yeah, Nintendo has always been home to a lot of good platforms isn't it it's basically a Nintendo bread and butter.

Mike Macdermid 38:37

Yeah, I mean, we've got the obviously we've got the obvious ones but I just be nice to see a few more of these and obviously will we're going to get we have crushed bundle. We're going to get Zelda we are going to get Zelda two but we're going to get spiral as well as well as trying to see which is a bit of a throwback one which actually To be honest, spider wasn't even necessarily one of the better PlayStation games but it was a lot of fun. But it would be nice to see a few more I think this one will be welcome news for a lot of people Anton.

Anton Winters 39:06

Yeah, talking about kill a platformer today Okies careful the title of test Manian Tiger Kickstarter this week.

Mike Macdermid 39:13

Yeah. Well, I know we've mentioned it in here. I've seen a little bit of this but tell us about it because this looks exciting.

Anton Winters 39:22

Yeah, this was like one of the late platformer of the peers to the Xbox One Xbox original era where people were kind of shifting onto your middle gear or middle loners and cold shoe ease and account came late in that kill platform and boom, and it's a game I've played far too much when I was younger as cap got mixed reviews. And a lot of the criticisms were of it being generically Australian and apparently an offensive yet being made by an Australian team which is an interesting one but it's count very charming you can use boomerangs you can glide it's a nice solid one they've recently poured it PC a couple years ago and did like a feel like redoing the graphics and the physics and all that kind of stuff and it's his kicks are going coming on 2020 which makes me so happy what a bizarre release but yeah, bring it

Mike Macdermid 40:13

on. It looks kind of fun. I'm kind of interested in this I do like that era of platforms. I must admit I'm kind of I'm into this

Al Struthers 40:21

house there you're looking at the screenshots I will look at some screenshots thinking that looks like a proper bus in the past. I'd only I never played it I see was on the game at 1.0 Yeah, that does look like quite good.

Anton Winters 40:33

I think that funny to say earlier on in the week, I was like, oh man fertile the Tasmanian Tiger. That would be great. And I googled it and I was like, it'd be nice haven't switched cuz I knew about the PC one but yeah, he really plays platform was on PC and then a Google that and I was like, oh, let's come at the switch. Oh, cool. Okay, support in case are you know, it's already been funded. It's like coming up.

Mike Macdermid 40:54

You weren't the only person thinking that way. That's for sure.

Anton Winters 40:56

Yeah. There's like four other people. Yeah. More than that.

Mike Macdermid 41:00

Right then. Next up, Pokemon. You might have seen this in the news, actually, because there was a big storey about this. They're opening a pop up store, which will celebrate the release of sword and shield that is a pop up it does look really good. I have to say I had a look at it. And it will also have exclusive London themed products as well. And I think it closes on launch day or it opens on launch day. I can't remember which way around but it basically they've tied it in nicely, Anton

Anton Winters 41:25

Yeah. And I should say it looks surprisingly known papa. Well, I that was

Mike Macdermid 41:30

confused me so much. Because I looked at the image and thought, Oh, that's cool. They're offering a Pokemon store. But no, it's a pop up store. Which, which is still great.

Anton Winters 41:38

You know, I wouldn't be surprised that they launched this. And then like, if it does really well, they're like, yep, it's going to be apparently Pokemon store in London. Yes, it loose really well done and high quality and even a feels like a field test for doing a full on either Pokemon or Nintendo store. It seems. Park too much effort seems to be put into it looks.

Mike Macdermid 41:58

Yeah, they've done a really good good job of it. I've yet to look. I'll start you seen it?

Al Struthers 42:02

No, no, I'm actually trying to find images at the moment. I can find an image of the front of a shop, which is a mock up. I can't find anything.

Mike Macdermid 42:09

Yeah. I mean, maybe it's the mock up that's been used in all the newspapers reports me perhaps that's that maybe that's not the actual one. Perhaps maybe that's just the the mock up of what they think. I know. They're using a carousel space to have and and No, those are just public spaces. Yeah. So there's a pop up is that's just one of the things well,

Al Struthers 42:25

maybe it could well be that the opens October.

Mike Macdermid 42:29

Yes. Yes. And he wasn't open yet. But the the that well, could well be the way it's been reported this week is that they've used kind of artists impression of it. And actually, yeah, that's all it is. Yeah. So it may not look as amazing as some of the storeys in the news this week would lead us to believe

Al Struthers 42:47

some interesting idea. I mean, it's a good way of getting exposure as well as it gets into the press. And yeah, yeah.

Mike Macdermid 42:52

Well, it certainly wasn't reported as that was because I must admit, I thought that's a permanent store. But that's just a mock up

Al Struthers 42:58

in place to look like that. To be fair is is the best space in this talk. Some finals and a window.

Mike Macdermid 43:02

Yeah, yeah. Well, we'll see. We'll see. But certainly for a Pokemon fine. You want to get yourself to London in October now next up Cooking Mama cook star has now appeared in two different ratings boards, one in Australia and one in Germany. So that seems like it's coming soon.

Anton Winters 43:18

Yeah, who, who would have expected that franchise hasn't been around since the early 3ds. Era? It would, it would be nice if it wasn't just shuffle where,

Mike Macdermid 43:27

you know. I mean, I'm not gonna get it. But I mean, I'm sure there'll be an audience. I'll stir. Are you the audience?

Al Struthers 43:33

No, I'm not notice I'm happy.

Mike Macdermid 43:36

Yeah. I mean, fair, overcooked is a very good quality title. If you do want something to play Co Op. It'll drive you mad as a lot of East. Yep. Then get overcooked. And there's a lot of DLC with the second one of it, either. overcooked is great. Next up, Sega is planning tonight's a triple A game at games con 20th, the 24th of August. So that is a couple of weeks time What are they going to announce? That's the question Anton What's the game? Is it Sonic racing again? No, its interest.

Anton Winters 44:02

I don't even frankly with class Sonic his truck ladies day now I'm thinking maybe an alien's game. It's been a while like we're getting Alien Isolation. So maybe drumming up support for that book who

Mike Macdermid 44:14

you know, it's been? I think, yeah. What do you think what Shenmu as as we're Sega involved? They would they be involved with an announcement for?

Anton Winters 44:22

I think they've gave up the rights to show

Mike Macdermid 44:26

that actually

Anton Winters 44:26

they own your cursor. your cursor? This

Mike Macdermid 44:29

is kind of cool. Actually. That will make sense.

Anton Winters 44:32

Yeah, cuz say not the also on Atlas, which as a whole bag of worms there.

Mike Macdermid 44:37

Yeah. I mean, then then we're into well, could be anything really? I guess? Yeah. Well, it's interesting. Again, we don't have to wait too long the a couple of weeks until Sega do announced this triple A game. Do we know on the talking about this being a triple A game that will be for the switch? Here? We have no idea. It's a complete mystery package rightly? We can't be getting anything. Interesting. We'll keep an eye on that. This was all very interesting this week. How about playing No Man's Sky on the switch? Who's in?

Unknown Speaker 45:06

You know?

Mike Macdermid 45:08

I am I'm in.

Al Struthers 45:09

I just remember when it came out in every facet? Yes,

Mike Macdermid 45:12

it did. But it's it's a different game from back then. So I heard Yes. And it and it is supposed to be very, very good. And I think the switch, if you could get No Man's Sky, basically, what's happened is the CEO has said that he's quite interested in the idea of putting Norman sky to switch by virtue of the fact that he's a fan of the switch. And that doesn't mean it's happening. But there's certainly an interest there. Anton, would you be keen?

Anton Winters 45:36

Yeah. Yeah. You know, he's been very dedicated to bringing like camp keeping this game alive. He's last game came out. Well, 2013. And we've got the Xbox port, like maybe a year ago. He's been very dedicated. I think he's working on the VR version to know, yeah. But it took him three or four years to bring them the Xbox One. So he's definitely got a hand long term mindset with it. And he's been, there's been so many updates to this game. So that maybe,

Mike Macdermid 46:06

if you look at the success of war frame, and you only think about war from when it was released, originally, everybody complained about it, when it was had is not on the switch, the very first release of it, everyone said, well, it's not finished, and it's not. And then people ignored it, and then came back to it and said, Actually, this is a great title and the time the switch, got it, we've got a really good part of it. We had the benefit of it being around for ages. And I just feel like No Man's Sky could do a wireframe.

Al Struthers 46:32

I would love it. If it did, I'd be very happy to have it because the game has so much potential is also a lot of work had gone into it. And Rossini playing is fine just making a game. But

Mike Macdermid 46:41

I haven't had the experience I had with Mass Effect two since Mass Effect two. And I want that kind of experience. Not necessarily the same kind of game, but just in space, proper exploration type game where you feel there's a bit of a storey going on. And I've tried a few games in the sense and yeah, I've had some good experiences, but I've not had that experience. It's not had that moment. The outer worlds I feel might be the game that does that

Al Struthers 47:05

can be getting close. I kind of agree with that. Actually, I feel very similarly. Yeah, with you on, on that.

Mike Macdermid 47:12

I mean, I loved Mass Effect one and two. I absolutely love those games as well. Three. I never played because unfortunately the time I got to play I'd heard so many bad things about the ending that I kind of left and I actually it was

Al Struthers 47:24

I should know it to be honest. I quite enjoyed three so it's like

Mike Macdermid 47:28

I think I got such a bad rap because of the ending that people ignored it. But actually, it was not a bad game.

Al Struthers 47:35

at all, then

Mike Macdermid 47:35

well, it will be interesting to see if we get get this Did you your Mass Effect player? I'm

Anton Winters 47:43

not I can't jump I think I bought the limited edition on VU. And and then I just from what I gather, it picked up right from the end of Mass Effect two and I was like what was going on?

Al Struthers 47:56

Yeah, it did. They were great games, they are actually worth investing entertainment, but you need to invest a lot of time. I would

Mike Macdermid 48:02

love it if you could bring the trilogy on the switch as well. Just as a handheld I would be in front I

Al Struthers 48:06

don't like going back and playing games often by my go back and

Mike Macdermid 48:08

play the same. There's not many I would go back and play bully. And there was talk about bully to this week. I don't know if any of you spotted this.

Unknown Speaker 48:14

Oh, I missed it. So

Mike Macdermid 48:16

really to it looks like is

Anton Winters 48:18

that can be fun. Should we get it on this?

Mike Macdermid 48:20

Well, I don't think so. This is the question unless it's switch Pro. And unless that's where the two comes in. But hey, we'll see. I mean, I would love Rockstar to just give us some more on the switch.

Al Struthers 48:31

Because I know we've not got it in our release notes anywhere but apparently Nintendo's like releasing all water switches. Not just a light and a pro. Oh really? Yeah. Yeah, there's their photography. They're not they haven't done what the reschedule but there's been quite a few rumours this week, probably backed up on some pretty good solid hardware grounds that we're gonna see quite a lot of switches. And yeah, we don't know, can we just keep it sort of, you know, simple and easy. And but we'll go into a bit more next week. Just to research these rumours a bit more. Yes.

Mike Macdermid 48:58

Yeah. Okay, fair enough. Alright, well, that brings us to the end of the rumours. And I think what we should do now is move on to the quiz. So, Anton quiz master quiz Master Anton, you're in the hot seat is mastermind time. UR was the presenter of mastermind called again, Magnus. And Anton Atkinson.

Anton Winters 49:22

Yes. And if you are not familiar with the quiz, you'll probably pick it up really quickly because we've made the rules as simple as possible. probably get the answer before we do. Most likely this week to balance it out. We've got a little bit of a Mega Drive special. I'm sorry.

Al Struthers 49:40

I'm just gonna go into sit over there in the corner because I won't build

Mike Macdermid 49:44

weren't listening last week actually, annoyingly with the snares special that you did, I got the first two and I was tuned up and then we did the last week I felt for the first time it's a stupid idea to do this. This bonus chance for all sorts of win and then he got the last one. And then he because of last was the bonus. The last two weeks for that I thought was the greatest idea ever. But yeah, as you did it. Yeah. Anyway, Mega Drive time.

Anton Winters 50:07

Yes. Alrighty. So the first game is a site scrolling BM up in a city streets of rage. I don't know.

Al Struthers 50:21

I can't believe I didn't even know if that was actually even on. Yes or no it was it was I'm so happy right now.

Anton Winters 50:28

Well done. All right. Take care. I'm looking at you might in your ballpark. Okay, let's do it. Let's do it. All right. This is the second and a trilogy of games. Where you ride a motorcycle.

Unknown Speaker 50:43

Road Rash to all

Unknown Speaker 50:45

Yes, you remember the new a new year you knew what it was as well?

Unknown Speaker 50:49

Yeah,

Unknown Speaker 50:50

you know more but mega little and apparently you can teach me by osmosis.

Mike Macdermid 50:55

Road redemption is the one on the switch. If you want to play something a bit Road Rash ask. It's not bad. It's not Wow, that's the most gruelling

Al Struthers 51:03

review I've ever heard.

Mike Macdermid 51:04

No, no, it's genuine. Nobody is just not Road Rash. But anyway, road redemption check.

Anton Winters 51:09

Alrighty, the final game one one. This this game, utilise a special cartridges that was never used for any other game on the console. which features lock on technology, Sonic and Knuckles. Gave gotta make is the winner of this.

Al Struthers 51:27

I'm not even gonna be grumpy by that because that was well earned, well deserved. And I am amazed I even got one point. Well, thank you very much.

Mike Macdermid 51:33

I never owned knuckles but always wanted to buy it. I was so into Sonic one and two. But never never owned Knuckles, sonic knuckles. But yeah, I knew all about the expansion. But yeah.

Anton Winters 51:47

Good job. My friend. First game I ever bought in line really was. Yeah, it was like when Amazon just became like, notebooks just after the facade cell notebook that was like, Oh, I'm buying a video game from a bookstore online.

Al Struthers 52:06

existence when?

Mike Macdermid 52:07

When we used to get what was the company that used to send your DVDs away? To rent your DVDs and film? Yeah. And can you remember the first thing you bought on eBay? Just before we go?

Anton Winters 52:17

Because I can't I actually can't.

Mike Macdermid 52:18

I'm talking about the first thing you bought an eBay?

Anton Winters 52:20

Oh, yes. nothing too exciting. I think I bought like two Gameboy pockets. Like that's a good yourself. Can

Unknown Speaker 52:30

I tell you what I bought from my first thing? I bought an eBay. There was a sock or something wrong

Mike Macdermid 52:33

here to the eBay store. It was like,

Al Struthers 52:36

I don't know, I think I joined in 2012. And you've been in for a couple years before that.

Mike Macdermid 52:38

Oh, no. It's been way longer than that. Like early on, I joined when did eBay start? Let me check this very quickly. Its way back. 95 eBay, right. He's

Al Struthers 52:53

gonna go find this. Okay, he's gonna bug me,

Mike Macdermid 52:55

but I think it was first selling. So maybe a year or two after that. But anyway, I've been a member since 2002.

Unknown Speaker 53:02

And yourself.

Mike Macdermid 53:02

Yes, I knew it was way longer than that. Anyway, so this was about 99 2000. And I had only just discovered that you could do this. And you know, I'll tell you what it is. This is so embarrassing. Colleen. I'm telling everyone this. It was a signed photo of Jonathan Frick's. You've told me this and

Al Struthers 53:20

forgotten about that.

Mike Macdermid 53:21

While Anton Gina who Jonathan freaks and Rhonda rycker from Star Trek The Next Generation

Al Struthers 53:28

correct reaction?

Anton Winters 53:31

judgement.

Mike Macdermid 53:33

I don't have any more of those. But it did have a certificate of authenticity it also must be genuine than it was genuine by I sold it again.

Al Struthers 53:40

Yeah, did you sell for more than you bought before? I

Mike Macdermid 53:41

don't think so. I think I just thought Why did I buy a picture? For some reason

Al Struthers 53:45

I shaved my head I thought it was all the DD please Superman and the TV show Lewis and Clark. OT and Kane. Yeah, for some reason I thought

Mike Macdermid 53:53

that would have been funnier but no Jonathan Craig's pretty up there. I don't know if it's been funnier it's still pretty random. Anyway the the Jonathan freaks signed for I love next generation but just a side note the card the new TV show series is coming soon and they finished filming this week so I'm I saw told her this I so excited that Picard is coming back I'm the trailer looks cool. But at the same time, everybody the trailer was going he's too old. He's a problem, man. You should be retired

Al Struthers 54:21

at my know he shouldn't be doing it. But I want it and I'm so conflicted. Mike, I'm so

Mike Macdermid 54:27

conflicted. It's gonna be amazing. writers in it. Data send it so data, isn't it? Yeah, records in it. Deanna tries in it. Anyway, this is not the Star Trek podcast.

Al Struthers 54:36

We should do a starship. No, we should do a Star Trek.

Mike Macdermid 54:40

I mean, anyway, just revealed ourselves as even bigger geeks than Anton. So there we are. So Anton, you're the least geeky of the three of us now.

Anton Winters 54:48

You know, you know if they add that Darth Vader to this at Star Trek help you really

Mike Macdermid 54:54

Darth Vader in the next generation.

Al Struthers 54:58

The ultimate crossover anyway, stop it.

Mike Macdermid 55:00

Very quickly. Just a reminder, we're all on Twitter. We're NS Uk podcast on twitter. Anton, we've got the website as well.

Anton Winters 55:07

Mike Macdermid 55:16

Mike Macdermid 55:39

send it in cut up newspaper headline letters to nice address Aberdeen stuck on some white paper to really

Al Struthers 55:49

do that. You could do that and then scan and then emailed.

Anton Winters 55:52

Yeah, yeah.

Al Struthers 55:54

Remember to send an email that will be very funny. Anyway,

Mike Macdermid 55:57
